For those of you who are interested in being part of watershed conservation, I would encourage you to attend one of the meetings listed below.
Our watershed is part of the Slippery Rock Creek Watershed, so the document that is currently being reviewed by the public is directly relevant to us. A watershed conservation plan can impact what happens in the watershed in the future, and can also influence funding. Don’t hesitate to contact Laurie Popeck if you have any additional questions. Her information follows her message below.
From Laurie: The first draft of the Slippery Rock Creek Watershed Conservation Draft Plan has been completed and public meetings are scheduled to introduce the SRCWCP. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in these meetings as their input will be summarized in the final version of the SRCWCP. Comments may also be submitted until March 17, 2011.
Each public meeting will begin at 7 pm. Addresses and meeting dates are also available at http://www.streamrestorationinc.org/srwcp/srwcp.php
